The 22 year old was walking on the tracks while wearing his headphones and never knew the train was coming.
Amtrak says the locomotive was going about 110 mph when it hit Darryle See and threw one of his shoes 150 feet.
The remarkable thing was how little See was injured.
Officers were amazed, saying See "was conscious and alert, sitting up and talking to us. I never would have guessed he was the victim."
