Man stabbed six times while trying to keep the peace

A man tries to break up a fight at a club early Sunday morning and ends up getting stabbed in the back six times.

Tulsa police say the stabbing happened around 1:30 a.m. at Club Rio near 21st and Sheridan.

The victim saw two women fighting and he stepped in to break them up.  Police say one of the women then started to fight the victim.

A group of guys saw this and thought the victim was fighting the woman.  The group went over and ganged up on the victim.  Police say this is when one of them produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

Officers received the call about a stabbing victim after he showed up at a Tulsa hospital.

The victim's injuries are not life threatening.

Officers don't have a description of the suspect who produced the knife.
