Man shot during armed robbery attempt

A gunshot victim is hospitalized after spurning an armed robbery attempt at a convenience store near North Peoria Avenue and East Apache Street.

Tulsa Police Corporal Dan Miller tells us the victim had been shot outside the store about 9 p.m. Monday.

"The male told us that he had been at a little convenience store called the Dash Inn and had been confronted by two individuals, two black males. They tried robbing him. When they were unsuccessful they shot him," Miller said.

The victim was shot once in the back.

We're told two females at the scene started to drive the victim to the hospital, but called EMSA instead.

Paramedics tell us the victim is expected to survive.

Police are looking for the suspects.
