TULSA - A man struck his son with a car trying to help his wife who was having an asthma attack during an evening stroll.
It happened Sunday on State Highway 109, a few miles south of Hugo in Choctaw County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Brian Mack, 19, was walking with his mother when she suffered an asthma attack.
They called his father, John Young, 41, who jumped into his 1991 Ford pickup and hurried to the area.
Mack stepped out onto the roadway when he saw the pickup coming, but Young didn't see him, and hit him with the truck.
Mack was transported to Choctaw Memorial Hospital by ambulance, then flown to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa by helicopter.
OHP says he had internal injuries, but was listed in stable condition.
No one else was hurt.
