Man punches Highway Patrolman, learns hard lesson

It began when Billy Miller crossed the center line while driving and nearly hit a Highway Patrol trooper head on early Friday morning.

The trooper quickly pulled Miller over for suspicion of DUI.

Then things got interesting.

When it became obvious Billy Miller had been drinking, the troopers tried to arrest him, but he fought back.

Miller landed at least three blows to the head and chest before he was cuffed and left powerless.

Lt. Vern Wilson told Fox 23 News "it wasn't simply that he wasn't non-compliant or trying to be cuffed. Wilson continued "he was trying to escape the trooper's grip and struck him several times."

Tulsa police responded to the call and were on the scene as well.

Even with the cuffs Miller was cantankerous. Fox 23 reports he continued to yell at officers despite being in custody.

A search of Miller’s car turned up turned up two bags filled with more than 30 grams of cocaine.

Miller is being held on charges including resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
