A man pleads guilty to first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his 7-year-old niece.
Investigators say Justin DeRyke told them he killed Willow Long to "put her out of her misery" after she fell onto a brush pile and pierced her neck last year.
More than a thousand volunteers searched for the girl near her home in Waston, Illinois, about 100 miles northeast of St. Louis.
DeRyke will serve a life sentence.
