Man killed during standoff in Wagoner County

A suspect is dead following a standoff in Wagoner County on Saturday.

The scene happened near the Fair Oaks area.

Sheriff's office reports the man was held up inside a travel trailer when they arrived.  During this time, he fired shots though the walls at deputies.

His dangerous actions didn’t stop there.

“At one point the suspect did open the door,” a deputy at the scene said.  “The suspect was armed with a rifle.  The suspect did point the rifle at the Wagoner County deputies and the deputies did return fire.”

At first, investigators couldn’t be sure they hit him.  However, when they did enter the traveler trailer, the suspect did have gunshot wounds and he was dead.

As of early Sunday morning, the suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
