A man confesses to killing two puppies with a shotgun because they were sick.
Washington County deputies say neighbors heard gunshots and saw Justin Herwig dragging the puppies away on Thursday. The neighbors then called for help.
Deputies say one neighbor witnessed Herwig shooting the puppies.
The pets belonged to his girlfriend's mother. He told the deputies the puppies appeared to be sick, so he put them down.
He's currently in the Washington County Jail. Herwig faces two counts of animal cruelty.
