Man attempts suicide by jumping into tiger cage

The 27-year-old Chinese man was depressed and felt suicide was the only way out. So off to the zoo he went.

Once inside the tiger cage, he jumped around trying to antagonize the tigers. He managed to anger the big cats just enough to scratch him and even drag him around by the neck.

In the end, the tigers just didn’t want to eat him. Perhaps they were full.

After about 20 minutes, zoo workers tranquilized the tigers and rescued Yang Jinhai.

Jinhai claims he was unhappy with his life, his job and he felt the tigers needed food more than he needed life.

Witnesses at Chengdu Zoo say the tigers just seemed more nervous than anything, and the female tiger just ran off.
