Make-A-Wish changes local family

Ethan Starkweather is a very happy young man.

Ethan is a Wish Ambassador for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma.

He helps other kids get their wishes granted.

He suffers from a rare chromosome disorder that causes him to feel hungry all the time.

It also causes muscle tone delay and a long list of issues, but the most prominent problem is the constant hunger.

His condition only affects one if 15,000.

At eight years old he got his wish granted - to flying with Peter Pan and ride a whale.

He got to do that at DisneyWorld with his family.

According to his mom, Amy Starkweather, that wish changed Ethan’s life.

“It perked him up. It gave him something to look forward to before the Wish Trip happened.  He still talks about it almost daily.  It is life changing, there are hardly any words you can put to it for these kids.”

Now, Ethan and his family support Make-A-Wish because of how it has changed Ethan.

Amy says, “He just loves it.  Helping others.”

The new home to be auctioned off is located at 2600 South Tuscon Court in Broken Arrow.

The home will be open again for public viewing on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

The live auction will take place at 6:30 p.m.

One prize is a trip to Disneyworld for a family of four (includes airfare and Park Hopper passes).

Another prize is a FamilySAFE Above Ground Storm Shelter.

Or you can win outdoor furniture and grill package.
