TULSA - A Tulsa deputy who served the community for more than 30 years has died from cancer, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputy John Edward Schonholtz joined TCSO as a deputy in October, 1981.
A 1969 graduate of Owasso High School, he served in several divisions during his career.
He was a member of the Mounted Patrol and the Honor Guard, and for more than a decade worked with the FBI and the US Treasury Department IRS Criminal Investigation Task Force.
His final post was to the Civil Division.
Funeral services are pending.
Tulsa County Deputies will wear a black mourning band in his honor.
