The Oklahoma Legislature will soon be honoring the state's 45th Infantry Division and members of the state's Army and Air National Guard.
Oklahoma lawmakers will convene a joint session of the House and Senate tomorrow for their annual 45th Infantry Division and Oklahoma National Guard Appreciation Day.
Lawmakers will pay tribute to the sacrifices made by members of the 45th Infantry Division during World War II and the Korean War.
In recent years, the event has been expanded to include the men and women who serve in the Oklahoma National Guard.
The 45th Infantry Division was deactivated back in 1968 and replaced with three brigade-sized elements which compose the Oklahoma National Guard to this day.
Those elements of the National Guard are the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, the 45th Fires Brigade and the 90th Troop Command.
