The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed SB 780 this week that makes it illegal to improperly dispose of wildlife.
In this case, it's defined as shooting a deer, but not harvesting the meat from the carcass.
Apparently, it's a fairly common problem for people to shoot deer for the sole purpose of getting the antlers, and leaving the carcass to spoil.
The fine, if a person is found guilty, is a minimum of $500 and the loss of one's hunting license for a year.
