Wildlife experts say the little unwanted guests have been particularly bad in the last few years.
Kyle Johnson of Johnson Wildlife says that’s because of the recent mild winters. Johnson says not only are they a nuisance, but they’re pretty hard to get rid of too.
“Anytime you use pesticides to try to remove them, all you’re doing is pushing the animal out of your yard and into your neighbor’s yard.” Johnson said.
Johnson’s company uses below ground, lethal traps to get rid of moles and gophers.
“Trapping is the only truly effective way to remove these animals.” Johnson continued.
Johnson said it’s unlikely they’ll come back, but they can return if your yard is a good food source for them
