KRMG Extreme Weather Alert: Rain/snow moving toward Tulsa

A winter weather system is moving in from the west today that will bring rain and possibly snow to Tulsa and surrounding areas.

We can expect rain for most of the day and there is the possibility of that rain transitioning to snow later tonight.

Areas of western Oklahoma are seeing the system now.

That area will have snow early today with more snow likely there than here in Tulsa.

A winter weather advisory will remain in effect until 8 this evening for counties west of Tulsa.

Temperatures will remain cold in Tulsa today with a high expected to be near 39.

It will become even colder early this evening, dropping to 35 by 5 p.m.

This winter system is in perfect Oklahoma fashion as it comes just days after having high winds and dry conditions, which brought the high danger of fires.

If you plan on traveling today, make sure you stay connected and check for updates on weather and road conditions as you drive west.

Tune in to FM 102.3 and AM 740 Newstalk KRMG for updates throughout the day and check back here at KRMG.com.
