The National Weather Service office in Tulsa has issued a Heat Advisory for several counties in northeast Oklahoma.
The advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday for Tulsa, Rogers, Osage, Wagoner, Okmulgee, Washington, Creek, Nowata, Craig, Pawnee, Mayes, Okfuskee and Muskogee counties.
Heat Index values will be around 105 degrees this afternoon across parts of northeast Oklahoma that did not receive significant rainfall over the past day.
Hotter conditions are expected for Saturday with afternoon Heat Index values around 105 to 110 degrees.
The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
