KRMG asks: Where is the snow?

Several days ago, some forecasts mentioned snow this week.

The National Weather Service says its hard to forecast storms that are thousands of miles away on the far side of the Pacific.

Meteorologist in Charge Steve Piltz says they look at the data but don't make firm predictions until storms get closer to Tulsa. Piltz says, "We do look off in the distance and sometimes we do see snow potential that shows up in certain computer models but we take that with a big grain of salt."

Piltz tells KRMG that a slight change in temperatures makes a big difference in whether we see snow or rain. Piltz says, "We don't have a lot of confidence until the storms get a lot closer to us and that usually means a day or two out."
