Ku Klux Klan to hold rally at Gettysburg

The battlefield at Gettysburg is among the most sacred in America.
Now the Ku Klux Klan has been told they will be given a permit to hold a rally on that battlefield.
The decision to allow the rally came from the National Park Service who explained it this way.

"The National Park Service mission in preserving and protecting the historic resources at Gettysburg includes making them available to all Americans, even those whose views are contrary to the majority of the American public."

But others don't agree. Bill Mcallister's great-great-great-grandfather was in the battle, his opinion was quite different.

"To have the KKK come here is obnoxious. To speak with as much emotion as I can get without swearing ... to me it's abhorrent they would come to this battlefield to do anything," he told CBS 21.

It isn’t the first trip to Gettysburg for the Klan. They held a rally there in 2006 complete with a heavy police presence.
There were no incidents reported.

The Gettysburg Times reports a counter rally will be held at the same time at Lutheran Theological Seminary.
