It was almost five years ago when two young girls Taylor Placker and Skyla Whitaker were shot and killed while walking home in Weleetka.
Now, the man responsible, Kevin Sweat of Okmulgee, will have another day in court to enter his official plea.
Sweat will formally enter his plea today in Okfuskee County District Court.
At his last arraignment, a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
The trial began in January for the 2008 murders.
Sweat has said that he thought he saw "monsters" when he shot the girls walking along the side of a road. He stopped his vehicle and shot the girls with two different guns.
Sweat claims he had "some mental problem" and was not hallucinating when he shot the innocent young girls.
Sweat admitted he shot the girls while already in police custody. He had been arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend.
Sweat will face trial in that case this June.
