A story heard first on KRMG.

Tulsa police are investigating after an armed robbery and a shooting at a restaurant.

The KFC store at 4235 South Peoria was robbed after closing time about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Gary Otterstrom tells us one employee was shot in the abdomen.
"As one of the employees was opening the back door to take the trash out two armed suspects entered forced the employee back in to the store," Otterstrom said.
"While trying to get control of the employees he fired a round that struck an employee in the abdomen. Forced the manager to lay down in the office and then forced him to open the safe. They took an undisclosed amount of money out of the safe."

The employee who was shot was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police are looking for the dark blue Chevy pickup that the suspects used to make their getaway.
The pickup struck a parked car and the pickup will have damage to its front end.
