Joe Flacco to play Johnny Unitas in new movie

The current Baltimore quarterback will play the original Johnny Football in the movie “Unitas We Stand.”
Flacco won’t be the actor playing the day to day on screen role but he will be the person in some of the live action football scenes.

Flacco says he is "excited and honored by the opportunity to play Johnny Unitas."

The movie close with game scenes from the 1958 Colts-Giants championship game, widely considered the game that brought the NFL to national prominence.
Filming is expected to begin in mid-July with an expected release date sometime around next year’s Super Bowl in New Jersey.

Joe Unitas, the son of the all-time great told the Baltimore Sun "a lot of the way Joe plays and his demeanor reminds me a lot of my dad."

"He's not a rah-rah guy. He throws a touchdown and maybe there's a little fist pump."
