Jimmy Buffett to play Tulsa's BOK Center

When it was first announced the River Spirit Casino in Tulsa would become Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Casino and Restaurant the man behind a lifestyle said "I am happy to bring a few palm trees and frozen concoctions to the banks of the Arkansas River."

Those palm trees will be making an early stop as it was just announced that Buffett will play Tulsa's BOK Center in December of this year.
“The first time I ever saw Tulsa was from the stage at Cain’s Ballroom awhile back. It is an honor to be returning as part of this great new entertainment complex in association with River Spirit and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation," Buffett said when the casino was announced.
He finished by saying "I look forward to getting back to Tulsa and playing there again real soon."

Buffet's fans, known as Parrotheads, have made his concert tours some of the top grossing in the nation every year.

Buffet is also a bestselling author, and owns a successful chain of restaurants as well as merchandise stores.

You might say the man is an industry unto himself.

The concert will be a preview of what to expect when the new casino and restaurant complex opens in Tulsa in 2015.

A 22 story hotel and Caribbean style casino and grounds will sit on the site currently occupied by the River Spirit Casino.

When it was announced the developers of the property called it "an investment to rival the BOK Center and ONEOK Field combined."

Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday, September 28 at 10 AM.
