Jealous boyfriend accused of throwing hammer at girlfriend

A boyfriend traps and hits his girlfriend with a hammer Saturday morning.

Tulsa County deputies say they received the call around 5 a.m.

Stuart Palmer is accused of coming home from work angry and accusing his girlfriend of cheating on him with her ex-husband.

Deputies say the couple argued and Palmer began turning over all the tables inside the home.  He also kicked the door multiple times.

While this was going on, the victim told police she was trapped in the kitchen.  Deputies say the victim was able to escape the home near West 1st and South 49th and call for help.

On her way out the door, the woman told deputies her boyfriend threw a hammer at her, which hit her hand.

When deputies arrived, they found overturned tables and the victim had injuries consistent with her story.

Palmer tried to run, but deputies tracked him down.

He's currently in the Tulsa County Jail.
