Investigators use manure to track down stolen horses

Fri, Sept 15, 2017 — KRMG has done stories about investigators following tracks in snow to catch bad guys.

This week in Pittsburg County, deputies did something similar, except with manure.

Sheriff's office reports someone stole 2 horses, valued at $80,000 each.  The theft occurred at the McAlester Southeast Expo Center.

Deputies then followed manure trails and found the horses near McAlester Lake, tied to a tree.  To be fair, the deputies also received some tips from witnesses.

So far, the thieves are still on the loose.  However, investigators believe they know who they are looking for.

KRMG will update the story when an arrest is confirmed.
