TULSA, Okla - The five staffers at Victory Christian Center who pleaded not guilty to one count each of failing to report child abuse will return to work by the end of the month.
Harold Frank Sullivan, John Daugherty, Charica Daugherty, Paul Willemstein and Anna Alisa George will return to work at the end of October.
The church announced on Sunday that, “Each employee has been met with, counseled on the seriousness of their failure and notified of all the disciplinary consequences invoked upon them including changes in responsibilities, accountability and reporting relationships. As a result, we have restructured both the youth department and human resources department.”
Tulsa Police Detective Greg Smith is a lead investigator in the case.
He tells KRMG, “We're not concerned with what Victory does with their employee’s. If they want to let them come back to work that’s fine. They've been charged with the offense they're accused of, they'll have their day in court and we'll just wait and see what happens then."
The staffers apparently knew about the reported rape of a 13-year-old girl as well as other sexual indiscretions, but kept quiet about it for more than two weeks.
