Indictment unsealed regarding witness intimidation

An indictment was unsealed on Tuesday revealing charges against four men and one woman for plotting to interfere with a federal witness.

Tulsa court records show Erin Elizabeth Mackool, William Lucas Mayberry, Christopher Aaron Charlton, David Bryce Brooner, and Charles August Hoffman are all accused of trying to prevent a witness from talking with federal law enforcement regarding one of the suspects and a violent crime.

Charlton was charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon for an incident back in June.  Court records state the suspect is accused of shooting Patrick Sean Kanaley in the leg.  Additionally, Charlton is facing drug charges and a gun charge.

The five suspects face up to 30 years in prison for their involvement in trying to interfere with the witness in Charlton's case.

Additional charges were filed against the four men and the woman.  Court records show they're facing a count of illegal possession of firearms.
