KRMG has learned there were three accidents involving semi’s on the I-40 bridge over Lake Eufaula with one of those resulting in a semi-truck splashing into the lake.
The truck was eastbound on I-40 when the driver had to swerve to miss another accident.
The truck slid all the way into the north side of the westbound highway before landing in the lake.
The driver was not hurt.
That wasn’t the case just east of that scene when a car slid on the ice and rolled over. The driver of that car was injured and taken to a hospital.
The other accidents involving trucks didn’t lead to significant damage or injury.
KRMG’s Russell Mills reports driving conditions in the area are not good with sleet melting when it hits the roadway and then immediately re-freezing to form a thin layer of sheet ice.
