TULSA - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has joined the investigation into the death of a couple whose bodies were found in their home near Boley Monday.
Okfuskee County deputies requested the OSBI to aid in the investigation, KRMG has confirmed.
A ranchhand checking on the couple discovered the bodies of 54-year old Denver Holloway and his wife 53-year old Martha Holloway.
OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown tells KRMG "we have some good, promising leads right now that we're running along with deputies, and an investigator from the district attorney's office."
She said investigators are keeping most information about the case "close to the vest" because the investigation is in its early stages and because when questioning witnesses or potential suspects it makes it easier to tell if their stories match up with the facts of the case.
That becomes more complicated if too much information gets out in the media.
The OSBI tells KRMG "wounds to the couple's bodies indicate they are victims of homicide," but Brown could not elaborate on the nature of those wounds or the use of any weapons.
The State Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
