The Tulsa Health Department set up a special testing clinic at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Saturday.
Health workers say 420 patients were screened for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV.
The patients are part of thousands possibly exposed to disease after a patient reported to have contracted HIV and Hepatitis C at one of Dr. Scott Harrington’s offices.
Dr. Harrington is an oral surgeon who has been in business in the Tulsa area for more than three decades.
Investigators say he was using dirty tools and had staff members without a medical license.
The health department says most people will be notified of their test results within two weeks.
Patients, who have given the health department permission to mail negative test results to their home, will receive their results in the mail.
People with a positive test result will be personally notified by a professional from the health department to provide more information about the test results and provide recommendations for follow up and care.
Anyone who was a patient at Dr. W. Scott Harrington’s dental practice should contact the hotline 918-595-4500 to speak to a public health representative about testing for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV.
The clinic will reopen Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and patients are accepted on a walk-in basis.
