Police made the gruesome discovery after a woman called saying she had “located something suspicious.”
That something turned out to be five garbage bags containing a head, torso, and other body parts.
Cops believe all the pieces belong to one white male.
WBOC reports a second woman told police she saw a light colored SUV dropping bags in the area earlier. The woman said she thought someone was illegally dumping trash near St. Clair County Township, Michigan.
The same witness told Sheriff Timothy Donnellon a middle-aged woman was driving the SUV.
People living in the area told WJBK “ I have no words for it. It’s absolutely astounding, it’s scary, it’s incredible.”
Donnellon told the Detroit Free-Press, "we are treating this incident as a homicide, and we are asking for the public's help to solve this crime."
