“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” Those were the words of the famous coach and character Patches O'Houlihan in the movie Dodgeball.
Patches would more than likely have a big attaboy for the group that played for nearly two straight days.
The event was put together by a high school gym teacher and included 18 men and women. They began playing at 7pm Friday and didn’t drop their weapons until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, 43 hours later.
Believe it or not there was a previous record. A group from Vermont lobbed balls at each other for 41 hours a few years back
Participants said the event was everything that they "could have dreamed it could be."
They did admit there were rough parts, especially early Sunday morning from about 2-5 a.m.
The event was organized for charity and eventually raised more than $3,000 for wounded veterans.
And just for fun, take a look at a little of Patches from the movie.
