Homeowner attacked in bed, sends suspect to the hospital

A home invasion suspect is nursing his injuries in jail after being beat by a homeowner early Friday morning.

Oklahoma City police say the unnamed homeowner was sleeping in his bed, when Anthony Brown is accused of breaking into his home and attacking him.  Brown is said to have hit the victim with a shotgun multiple times.

The homeowner didn't play the role of victim for very long.

Police say the homeowner was able to fight off Brown, grab a baseball bat, and punish the suspect for breaking into his home.

Police say Brown had to be transported to an area hospital with "significant head injuries."  He's now in the Oklahoma County Jail.

The homeowner did suffer multiple injuries to his back, hands, and head, but he's expected to be just fine.
