'Hatchet Hitchhiker' hero now arrested for murder

He was an internet sensation and praised as a hero, but 24-year-old Caleb "Kai" McGillvary has jumped to other side of the spectrum of fame as a suspected killer.

Back in February, McGillvary used a hatchet to save a California highway worker who was being attacked by a man, by striking the man with the hatchet.

The video of his interview with a Fresno TV station went viral on the internet, and he gained sudden nationwide fame.

But on Thursday, he was arrested at a Philadelphia bus station and charged with the murder of a 73-year-old attorney named Joseph Galfy Jr.

Galfy's body was found inside his New Jersey home.

Authorities say McGillwary met Galfy in Times Square in New York City and that McGillary had been staying at Galfy's home for a couple of days.

Authorities say after the time of the murder, McGillvary made a post on his Facebook page, asking "what would you do?" if you woke up in a stranger's house and found you'd been drugged and sexually assaulted.

One commenter suggested that you should hit him with a hatchet, after which McGillvary posted, "I like your idea".
