Guy beats cops in donut eating competition, gets arrested

It’s long been said cops have a taste for donuts. Now it’s clear the bad guys do too.

However, Bradley Hardison probably should have thought it through before entering a contest to see how many of sweet, round delights he could eat.

The problem wasn’t the pastries; it was the cops he was competing against. The competition came at the Elizabeth City Police Department's National Night Out Against Crime.

Bradley pounded eight donuts in two minutes. That was enough to beat the police officers and firefighters he faced.

However, when a report about his win ran in a local newspaper, someone from the Camden County Sheriff's Office recognized Hardison.

It turns out deputies had been looking for him in connection with two break-ins.

Reuters reports when Bradley was brought in for questioning Lieutenant Max Robeson started with a kind word.

“I said, ‘Congratulations on your win last night.'”

That was followed by his arrest.
