In last week’s Tulsa City Council meeting, the issue was brought up, but only to put Tulsa’s law in line with Oklahoma’s.
Essentially, Tulsa’s law was outdated. Oklahoma law takes precedent over city ordinances, so councilors were talking about changing the wording at the city level so that the two match.
The vote will happen during this week’s city council meeting.
On Friday, KRMG Morning News Host Dan Potter asked Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett what his thoughts are about guns being allowed in Tulsa parks. We’re talking licensed carriers, just to be clear.
“I think it’s fine, I think it’s okay. I think that it’s the present law in the state and I agree with that position.” Mayor Bartlett says.
Tulsa’s law will change this week.
