Governor reveals details from Oklahoma Severe Weather Safety Initiative

(Oklahoma City) - Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin will announce new storm and severe weather safety initiatives Thursday afternoon in Oklahoma City.

FOX23 Chief Meteorologist James Aydelott and other weather experts from across the state will be there.

The director of the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is expected to give an update on a program to help schools identify their safe refuge areas and options for safe rooms.

Meteorologists from the National Weather Service Norman Forecast Office will report on progress made by the Governor’s Task Force on Weather Safety.
The governor also will show a new public service announcement to remind Oklahomans to be prepared for severe weather.
