Girl who tweeted ‘2 drunk 2 care’ charged with DUI manslaughter

She got behind the wheel after spending an evening drinking and smoking pot at a club.

Mendoza’s blood-alcohol level was twice that of the legal limit when she got behind the wheel in Coral Springs, Fla. She crashed into a car with two 21-year-old girls inside; both were killed.

She wasn’t shy about her substance abuse, sending that ‘2 drunk 2 car’ tweet just hours before the wrong-way crash. Mendoza also sent tweets before that day bragging about the smell of weed in her car.

The crash happened in November of 2013, but Mendoza is just now being officially charged. She too is still dealing with injuries from the crash.

Mendoza broke both of her legs and sustained a brain injury in the crash. She was wheeled into the courtroom on a stretcher with her face covered.

She faces two counts of DUI manslaughter while impaired, two counts of DUI manslaughter with an unlawful blood-alcohol level, two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of driving without a license and causing death.

Mendoza is being held without bond.
