George Zimmerman wants some of his Monday back and he wants the state of Florida to cough it up.
Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara says his client will ask for between $200,000-$300,000 in reimbursement of his legal fees after he was acquitted in the Trayvon Martin case.
Under Florida law the state is required to repay costs for things like expert witnesses, document copies, video and photo services and travel.
"It's a pretty standard motion for a case that the defense won," a Zimmerman legal team spokesman says.
What Florida doesn’t allow is a reimbursement of basic attorney fees and O’Mara says so far, Zimmerman has not paid him a penny.
O’Mara charged $400 per hour for the case meaning Zimmerman owes him more than $1 million.
