A gay Chinese man says he is suing a psychological clinic for carrying out electric shocks intended to turn him straight.

He's also suing the search engine that advertised the center.

A Beijing group that campaigns for gay rights says it's the first court case involving so-called conversion therapy in China.

The country declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 2001.
