Fourth grader busted for selling "legal" pot at school

The young man stole legally purchased pot from his grandparent’s home and took it to school.

He found four buyers and made a whopping $11.00 for his efforts. One of the boys brought a marijuana candy bar the next day and tried to trade it for more weed.

Buying marijuana is legal in Colorado but Greely, Colorado school district security chief John Gates had this request for adults, “for crying out loud, secure it.”

ABC News says police were called but the school decided to handle the situation internally. Monfort Elementary School Principal Jennifer Sheldon quickly fired off a note to parents and guardians.

“We know that many adults have greater access to marijuana since the change in the drug’s legal status in Colorado. We urge all parents, grandparents and anyone who cares for children to treat marijuana as you would prescription drugs, alcohol or even firearms. This drug is potentially lethal to children, and should always be kept under lock and key, away from young people.”

The four boys, all fourth graders face suspensions.
