We've learned former University of Oklahoma defensive end Frank Alexander was suspended from the NFL on Friday.
ESPN states Alexander will miss four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The league didn't specify how he violated the policy.
The backup defensive end will be eligible to return to games on Sept. 29. Until then, he can still participate in training camp and preseason games.
During his OU career, Alexander compiled 143 tackles and 20.5 sacks.
He was drafted in the fourth round in 2012.
