OSBI says they first noticed something was wrong in September 2013 after an Oklahoma City police officer tipped them off.
Jerry Cusic was part of the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit.
Surveillance video shows Cusic plug a thumb drive into a co-workers computer and remove a hard drive from another computer.
Agents say he was stealing answers to questions on a certification test he was about to take.
During the investigation, agents say Cusic bought programs and software to erase files and hard drives.
Cusic tried to remove the files from his computer.
OSBI Director Stan Florence says, “Integrity is one of the core values embraced by the OSBI, so we were extremely disappointed when it was discovered one of our investigators had violated the law.”
Cusic started at the Bureau as a data processing branch manager November 2, 1998.
He became an agent August 1, 2002.
The investigator resigned November 5.
He was also a soldier with the Army Reserved who served overseas.
