Five foot snow kidney leads to offer of donation for man who needs transplant

The giant, frosty organ stood outside the house of Jim Gorgunow and it did its job very nicely.
When Louie Benejam reads the sign next to the snow sculpture that read "KIDNEY WANTED,” he was curious.
Louie did a little checking and decided to offer to donate one of his. "Why not? I only need one," Benejam told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Louie said his "heart was pounding" and he "could not sleep that night,” after seeing the snow kidney.
Gorbunow has already had three kidney transplants, the last one lasting 13 years. But several months ago he noticed the symptoms of it failing and he began a search for number four.
There is much to do, including making sure Louie is a match before he actually donates.
Jim also has to be on the top of the transplant list once his condition gets worse.
If things don’t work out with Louie it’s OK. Jim says since his story became public he’s had calls from around the nation offering to help.
