TULSA, Okla. - A Tulsa firefighter was injured Friday afternoon while fighting a housefire near 46th and Peoria in Tulsa's Brookside area.
The call came in about 3:15, and firefighters arrived to find smoke billowing from the roof of the home in the 4600 block of S. Quincy.
One of the firefighters conducting a search and rescue operation was injured, and suffered burns and smoke inhalation.
He was taken by ambulance to a hospital in stable condition.
The mother of one of the house's owners told KRMG at the scene the couple had bought the house last year.
Newlyweds, they had spent months renovating the home and were just preparing to move in when the fire occurred.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, and no one else was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
