Tulsa police spotted and reported a house fire before the homeowner was aware that damage was already being done.
Three people got out of the house that is located near 2500 East 47th Place North at about 12 a.m. Friday and were not injured.
News On 6 photojournalist Gary Kruse says the homeowner told firefighters when they arrived that he was concerned about a couple of pets.
Firemen found one of the cats inside the house and saw the other cat that may have hidden under a bed.
The fire was on the back of the house.
It caused about $45,000 in damages and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Kruse says no one was injured.
The homeowner said that his smoke alarm did not awaken him, but for some reason he woke up and got everybody out of the house.
