EPA claims power to garnish wages

After some checking around, KRMG confirmed it is true.

The Environmental Protection Agency can garnish the wages of people who have violated its rules and didn’t pay up.

KRMG’s IRS Weapon Travis Watkins told KRMG such a notion had only been thought up by the IRS before this.

“This is unchartered territory… by everyone other than the IRS of course.” Watkins said.

The EPA hasn’t actually garnished any wages yet, as it’s just an idea at this point. The agency put it out there for comment and response.

If the EPA decides to move forward with garnishment, they could start doing so as early as September 2.
