Drug paraphernaila found near infant

Troopers take a 19-month-old girl into protective custody on Wednesday after finding marijuana during a traffic stop.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say 23-year-old Steffan Darnell Courtney was arrested in Tulsa County on several counts including DUI drugs and DUI child endangerment.

Courtney was stopped around 4:38 p.m. when troopers saw him driving erratic.  Troopers say they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.

OHP searched the vehicle and found a used metal smoking device next to the child.  Troopers say they also found a baggy containing marijuana under Courtney's seat.

The little girl was taken into custody out of fear for her safety.  Troopers say they thought she was in danger.

No word on the relationship between Courtney and the little girl.
