Driver accused of eluding, DUI after head-on collision on Sand Springs Expressway

A woman faces several charges including driving in the wrong direction on a Tulsa expressway and slamming into another vehicle head-on.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells us 25-year old Jana Smith from Broken Arrow struck another vehicle on I-244 near 33rd West Avenue about 11:01 p.m. Monday.

Smith is accused of driving under the influence and trying to elude Tulsa County deputies who had followed her from the Broken Arrow Expressway.

Smith and a woman and two children in the other car were taken to the hospital.

We're told they were njot seriously injured.
