Oklahomans love their pickup trucks, but Consumer Reports magazine likes the Dodge Ram 1500 with the V6 EcoDiesel the best.
The Ram topped Ford and Chevy's offerings not only in fuel consumption but also in the magazine's road tests.
It costs more than similar models, but that's not a factor in Consumer Reports testing.
The magazine says it's "whisper quiet" on the highway but says there is a slight diesel clatter when the engine is idling.
Victory may be short-lived for the Ram, which gets some tough new competition from the all-new Ford F-150, and its extensive use of aluminum body panels, later this year.
