Two Americans are being treated for Ebola in Atlanta after contracting the virus overseas.
Some people have been concerned that bringing them back to the U.S. would result in the virus spreading, but doctors are trying to dispel those concerns.
Dr. Heather Bell, an infectious diseases physician with St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, told KRMG there’s really nothing to worry about.
“There’s not any infectious diseases physician in the United States that has a whole lot of concern about this virus.” Dr. Bell said.
Dr. Bell said that’s because the virus is so tough to spread. Plus, she said every hospital in the country is prepared for infectious diseases.
“We have very good sanitation here and we have state-of-the-art isolation practices.” Dr. Bell added.
Bottom line, Ebola won’t be spreading through the U.S. anytime soon.
